Golf in Sri Lanka

We have 2 golf courses in Sri Lanka in our golf course database.
Sri Lanka is home to three pristine golf courses, located in Colombo, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya. Each course boosts an entirely different atmosphere and they are each truly unique to themselves. And a great thing is, you can experience the courses for considerably cheap green fees.

The Victoria International Golf and Country Club, outside of Kandy, is an 18 hole, par 73, course, which was voted the best course in Asia in 2005. The fairways are nestled among the dramatic mountain peaks of the Kandyan mountain range. The course was designed by Donald Steel and Company, world renowned architects. Golf is played year round in Kandy, with perfect golf weather temperatures averaging between 20-30 degrees Celsius any given day.

A new course is being built outside of Sri Jayewardenepura, so keep an eye out for the newest addition to Sri Lanka’s great golfing.

Keppel Club

Keppel Club

Golfers will relish the 5,917 metres of our par 72 undulating golf course. Designed by Ronald Fream and modified by Chris Pitman, bunkers have been strategically placed to challenge the novice and seasoned golfers. It was given a facelift in 2004 and in December 2005, our Landscape Master Plan for the golf course won a Bronze Award for Design and Building Projects – Commercial, Industrial, Recreational & Institutional by the Landscape Industry Association (Singapore). The Master Plan, developed by our in-house team, created an environment that draws golfers to the rich heritage of the Club while allowing natural habitats to flourish too.

Famous golf quotes

I enjoy Augusta. I enjoy its challenges. There's no other golf course like this anywhere. Its greens and its challenges on and around the greens are just super, super tough. So the greens are fun to play in sort of a morbid way.

FORE! Lee Westwood ball ends up in a woman's shirt !!!

This is maybe not news but where the ball landed is incredible..... The ball somehow made it's way into a woman's shirt as seen in the video below.

What would have been funnier is if the lady would have taken a run towards the green and dropped the ball there or even dropped it in the hole :)
